STRESS REDUCTION PROGRAM
Stress Reduction is focused on providing free and donation based events for those afflicted with stress and trauma. The program is led by Katie Stickney, MA, LMHC (in Seattle, WA) and by Claudia Weber, Clinical Trauma Professional (in Portland, OR) and works closely with counselors, therapists and psychologists in the stress/trauma field to promote events.
We also work directly with the US ARMY providing regular Gong Meditations to soldiers in the Warrior Transition Battalion. These are private group events at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma WA.
Working closely with the occupational therapists at JBLM, we are developing strategies that are most beneficial for our soldiers and veterans.
"The Gong Meditation was amazing, it really helped ease a lot of built up anxiety and helped me feel genuinely relaxed. Afterwards, it was like I was unable to feel anxious. I just felt really calm and in control of my emotions and feelings." Sarah - Olympia, WA
We are currently offering monthly Gong Meditations focused on stress reduction and trauma recovery at Two Dog Yoga studio in Seattle that are open to the general public. We provide a clean, safe environment, designed for the listener to release negative emotions and heal traumatic wounds.
What to expect: The 90-minute event includes a 62-minute Gong Bath Meditation, followed by sweets and community.
Before the Gong Meditation, Licensed Mental Health Counselor Katie Stickney will discuss how stressful and traumatic events impact the body.
Post-event, she will moderate an optional group conversation.
“The Gong Meditation was something out of this world! I went in thinking I would probably just sleep through the entire thing, but I was wrong. I was more awake than I have ever been. I felt as if I could feel every vibration throughout my body. For a second, I had no worries whatsoever. I was at peace with every thought in my mind. When the session ended, I felt cleansed from head to toe!" Marisa - Seattle, WA
